Academic Information

  • 1. We believe that God inspired the Bible in its original languages.

    2. By the 16th century Wycliff and Tyndale had translated the Bible into the English language; both were considered acceptable translations.

    3. In 1611 King James of England commissioned a translation that could be placed into the hands of the common man.

    4. In time, changes in word usage and punctuation necessitated a revision of the original 1611 text, thus the Authorized text was produced in 1769.

    5. We believe that the student should be under girded by unshakable faith in the Word of God.

    6. We believe that the Authorized King James Version, based on the Masoretic text for the Old Testament and the Greek text or the Textus Receptus for the New Testament, is God’s preserved Word for the English-speaking people.

    7. This statement does not preclude the study of the individual Greek and Hebrew words in the original languages for clarity of meaning.
